The perimeter of a parallelogram is 12 ft and its length is 3 ft. The length of the other side is _____ ft. Answer choices: 3 4 6 9

OpenStudy (tommynaut):

Say the length of one side is "x" feet and the length of another side not parallel to x is "y feet. The perimeter would be 2x + 2y, as opposite sides of a parallelogram are parallel and equal in length. You can set up the equation as 2x + 2y = 12, where x = 3. What would y be? That should be your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldn't Y be 3?

OpenStudy (tommynaut):

Correct :)
