Why did the framers of the Constitution include a system of shared power known as checks and balances? to ensure the powers of each branch of government are limited and checked by another branch to create a process for the American people to choose their representatives for government branches to ensure each branch of government had a limit on spending that could not be exceeded to enable the president to veto a branch of government's decision if it was deemed inappropriate
