For the First question, I got the answer from this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_New_Deal And here is an excerpt from it. The Second New Deal is the term used by commentators at the time[1] and historians ever since to characterize the second stage of the New Deal programs of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In his address to Congress in January 1935, Roosevelt called for three major goals: improved use of national resources, security against old age, unemployment and illness, and slum clearance, as well as a national welfare program (the WPA) to replace state relief efforts. It is usually dated 1935-36, and includes programs to redistribute wealth, income and power in favor of the poor, the old, farmers and labor unions. The most important programs included Social Security, the National Labor Relations Act ("Wagner Act"), the Banking Act, rural electrification, and breaking up utility holding companies.
For the second question: I found this wonderful easy to read site it is not much but so helpful and I learned a few stuff myself so go here and it tells you all about various groups like Mexicans, Native Americans, Women, and African Americans, and how the new deal affected them. http://www.hillcrestweb.com/USHist/A3F23CAD.pdf
A lot of things shaped the Great Depression, things like alcoholism, crime, prostitution, suicide, and cause of malnutrition rose. Furthermore, kids especially boys and men were found trying to stay in school longer in hopes of finding a better jobs. Also the use of birth control was on the rise to avoid unwanted and unexpected child that would cause the family to need more money that they did not have. Furthermore, this was a time when many needed an escape to forget thier worries and to do that many went to the theater and saw movies A LOT I am talking once or twice a week. Also the radio flourished and people would listen and watch out for Roosevelt's "fire side chats" And we can't forget about music they blues got veerry popular during this time. <<< if this is not enough go to this site: http://www.ushistory.org/us/48e.asp Don't forget to put everything in your own words and add examples like the "prohibition of 1933" I hope that helps.
