What is a nitrogenous base? A. A molecule that combines nitrogen with an alkaline metal B. A nitrogenous molecule that combines with other elements with a hydrogen bond C. A nitrogenous molecule that is combine with small amounts of sugar D. A molecule that combines nitrogen with other elements

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Destinymasha

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

A nitrogen base is a molecule that is combined with small amounts of sugar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh. okieeee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A bacteriophage is a virus that attacks and reproduces itself inside A. the cell wall. B. other viruses. C. bacteria. D. the nucleolus.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

destiny?:(

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

remember the 1st question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ye

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

A bacteriophage is a virus that infects and replicates within bacteria

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how does that work exactly?

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

haha - idk, its amazing :}

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacteriophage

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahahha :P What controls cell biochemical pathways? A. Carbohydrates B. Fats C. Lipids D. Proteins d...?

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

yes sir :}

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

well technically, enzymes - but they are made of proteins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesomeeee During his experiments to find a cure for pneumonia, Frederick Griffith discovered that one strain of bacteria had been transformed into another. Griffith called this process A. mutation. B. photosynthesis. C. protein synthesis. D. transformation. i have no clue...

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

do you know what a mutation is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i misread...

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

a mutation is the changing of the structure of a gene --and yes, you're right :P -its fine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yaysies :P

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In a double helix, what holds the two DNA strands together? A. A Hydrogen bond that forms between adenine and guanine B. A hydrogen bond that forms between thymine and cytosine C. Hydrogen bonds that form between adenine and guanine and between cytosine and guanine D. Hydrogen bonds that form between adenine and thymine and between cytosine and guanine i think D..?

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

-wait a second --for the one before this one............

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

let me read again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what..?

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

I actually think its a transformation --sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okie its fine

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

''transformed into another'' - ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for its D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

yes

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

wait for this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okie In a double helix, what holds the two DNA strands together? A. A Hydrogen bond that forms between adenine and guanine B. A hydrogen bond that forms between thymine and cytosine C. Hydrogen bonds that form between adenine and guanine and between cytosine and guanine D. Hydrogen bonds that form between adenine and thymine and between cytosine and guanine

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

i believe its D - The base pairs in DNA are adenine with thymine and cytosine with guanine.

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

if you need more help on that : http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/cellular-microscopic/dna1.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh okay and thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following is responsible for decoding genetic information? A. DNA B. Hydrogen bond C. Ribosome D. RNA A...?

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

'tis actually messenger RNA -the DNA contains the genetic info

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhh.

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

:}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the nucleotide sequence of a strand of DNA is TACG, what is the nucleotide sequence of the complementary strand of DNA? A. AGTA B. ATGC C. CTGC D. GTGC B!!!!!!!?

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

i believe you're right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yaysies! okay, that's all i have for today! :D thank you so much for your help!

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

YOU'RE VERY WELCOME! *HUGS*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*hugs back, turns around to walk away and hits wall* :P bye

OpenStudy (destinymasha):

:P bye
