OpenStudy (anonymous):

howd you get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i work construction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how do you work that problem out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its easy time 8 and 4 then - 2 then yull get your answer im positive thats right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then what do you do with the 40 ft x 30 ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 2nd problem is your picture but the 1 problem you solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your saying if i had this problem: How many sheets of 4 ft.x 8 ft. subflooring material are needed to cover a house measuring 38 ft. x 24 ft.? itd be 30 also.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure naahhbass is incorrect on this one. The total floor area you need to cover is 40*30ft = 1200ft^2. Then divide this by the area that one tile covers (4x8ft=32ft^2)

You'll get a fractional answer, but seeing as it's a realistic problem, round up to the nearest whole number to get your answer

OpenStudy (doc.brown):

The area of 1 sheet is 4 x 8. this gives you 32 square feet. You need to find out how many 4x8 will fill 40x30 that gives you 1200\[x(4\times 8)=40\times30\]\[32x=1200\]\[x=37.5\]
