Put the equations in slope intercept form and then graph and describe if it is consistent and independent, consistent and dependent, or inconsistent. 3x+y=-2 6x+2y=10
y=-3x-2 for the first equation Does it specify what is the y in the second equation
Oops yes sorry 6x+2y=10
okay then 2y=-6x+10 Simplified into y=-3x+5
and then after that yo need to graph it simply enough. first equation you would see that -2 is the y intercept and that -3x is the slope
for the second thing you would do the same thing 5 is the y intercept and -3x being the slope
as for the rest, i dont know but if this is a question from class than you should have the notes able to solve that
Let me try a graph really quickly
ok thanks
|dw:1393383461446:dw| They seem to be parallel if that helps.
OK so in the first equation when you graph it the -2 is the y intercept and I am a little confused when you graph the slope. It is rise over run is that correct ? So then -3 on the x axis and over 1 to the right is that correct
They have the same slope but different y-intercepts
it is rise over run. So you go down -3 and over 1 to the right. Or you can do 3 up and 1 to the left. It doesn't really matter
Ok that helps thanks. I was getting confused on how to graph the slppe. Thank YOU!!!
