What makes Theodore Roosevelt a hero? Have to write a Hero essay for English and was hoping someone might be able to give some Credible sources. Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go google it ! It'll give you a glue on what he did.

I have done this but it really isn't that specific, it does give the rough riders as an example which is nice. Any idea what would be another good one for the love he had for America?

There was also the one for the nature reserves he also had in place.

In 1904, Theodore Roosevelt won the Presidency by a landslide. He summed up his victory by stating, "I am no longer a political accident." He vigorously led Congress and the American public toward new reforms and a strong foreign policy. While in office, Roosevelt became a "trust buster" by forcing the great railroad combination in the Northwest to break apart. Earlier Congress passed the Sherman Antitrust Act in 1890 to maintain economic liberty, and to eliminate restraints on trade and competition. This act came into play during Roosevelt's trust busting activities. Roosevelt steered the United States more actively into world politics. He was aware of the need for a shortcut between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as a means of connecting the world. Hay-Pauncefote Treaty clears the way for an interoceanic canal. As a result, in 1903, construction of the Panama Canal began. Roosevelt helped solve disputes over Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Morocco. He won the adoption of the Drago Doctrine, which prevented the use of force in collecting foreign debts, an issue increasingly important as the U.S. became more involved with other countries.

What source is that from?

One major thing was his push to set aside certain US land for National Parks sothat future generations could enjoy them so at least they wouldn't be developedand destroyed. Financially, he was known as the Trust Buster because he broke up greedy monopolies.

i googled it and it took me to yahoo answers

Darn, need one from a real source, don't blame me for that haha, teacher's orders. But thanks, this did give me the idea for that antitrust situation he had. Completely forgot about that.
