line is appearing to be intersecting X-axis at -1 so x= -1 is the answer @Starr_DynastyT

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

u have to plug 8 instead of y in 3x + 2 = y which is 3x + 2 = 8 now solve it for "x" can u do that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x+2 =y at y= 8 3x+2= 8 3x= 6 x= 2

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

actually x = (-1) is not an answer.. but the steps shown by dpasingh solving 3x + 2 = 8 leads u to the answer... so.. the answer is x= 2

would this be -0.67

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

plug 2 instead of y in 3x + 2 = y 3x + 2 = 2 3x = 0 x = 0

ok.... i will teach u how to do this... lets say they gave u an equation like y = mx + c and the ask u to find x when y = p u have to plug "p" instead of y in the equation y = mx + c p = mx + c and then make "x" subject... now if we try it with a real example lets take y = 4x + 5 they ask u to find "x" when y = 9 then plug 9 instead of y in y= 4x + 5 u will get 9 = 4x + 5 then move 5 to the other side ( or subtract 5 from both sides) 9 - 5 = 4x + 5 - 5 4x = 4 now divide the both sides by the coefficient of x ( in this case its 4) 4x/4 = 4/4 x = 1 now folllow the same steps for rest of your problems.... wish u best of luck :)
