Kyle was torn. Should he really stop being friends with Dave just because the guys on the football team thought he was a book nerd? Dave had been his best friend since first grade, but now that he was in high school, things were different. Kyle wanted to be popular.

The next day in biology class the teacher allowed the class to select their lab partners for the year. Kyle caught the eye of Dave across the room just as Marcus, the best receiver on the football team, headed in his direction from the other side of the room.
