Is this not a "homework help" site?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a place for people to get help on any questions that they might have. Do you have a question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not everybody will be able to answer every question, but most people will try if they can.

Okay, thank you. I was asking this because this is what OS Ambassador "mathmale" said to me on a question. That's not the way it works in real life, is it? I don't mean to be unkind in saying this, but perhaps you need to think about and develop skills in checking your own work. If I were in your shoes and wondered about whether my answers to this question were appropriate, I'd do Internet searches for "difference of two squares" and/or "special products and factors." You could do that now, or you could move on to the next question on your list. I'd recommend that you do the 2nd now and the 1st later, if you have the time and interest. http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/530e3960e4b0869618fc700b

Yea, at least TRY it first. That'll make it easier so we know exactly what you need help with , if it's not the entire problem. It'll save time and be easier for us all. And in the CoC it says "Give help not answers." So no coming here for answers :3

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Actually, I was just talking in general. I wasn't talking about your specific situation, sorry >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Omg, now I feel like a jerk! Thats okay! Sorry :(

OpenStudy (preetha):

Niall, you sound like a nice guy. Both you and @mathmale are in the right. Sometimes it is difficult to tell what people's motivations are when they post a question here. We try to help people learn... it looks like you did! Thanks and welcome to OpenStudy!
