Do you know the definition of a parabola using the Directrix and Focus?
no
@agent0smith helppp!
Get out your textbook and start looking for those words :-)
I don't have text book. its an online class..
Would you like me to tell you? Would you like to look it up? Why have you been given this problem if you've no way to solve it? This doesn't quite make sense? Can you find the Vertex? That's important.
Well, I agree with @tkhunny — they have certainly discussed this prior to this point, or they would not be asking you to solve this problem. You have some choices: replay the online material, do a google search for "parabola directrix focus definition", find a math book, or maybe just ask on OpenStudy "How do I find the equation of a parabola from the directrix and focus?"
i need help...
I'm willing to walk you through it if you will find the definition and state it, here. You have to do the work to get it started.
In general, if you are asked to solve a problem, and the problem statement includes words whose meaning you don't understand, a good first step is to look them up! If you don't understand what is being asked, how are you going to find the correct answer?
