If bald is recessive, then each parent will need at least one bald allele (h).
In some types of baldness (there are so many reason for baldness), the gene (andorgen receptor gene) could be a reason for baldness (Androgenetic Alopecia). The above said gene position is on X chromosome. In the case of human male the condition is XY while for female it is XX. So if a baldness gene is present is X, for male it is mostly result in baldness but for female need a condition which require both X genes should carry baldness gene (may be recessive) for result in baldness.
