Anyone in Physical Science done the Roller Coaster's Potential & Kinetic Energy Portfolio?
1. They are all the same shape. But the first hill had the sharpest crests. the taller the hill, the sharper the crest 2. The force of friction slowed it down. Friction is surface resistance to relative motion, as of a body sliding or rolling. There are many ways of speeding it up. One may be to wet the tennis ball so that’s its heavier, or you can remove the plastic fuzz off of it. The fuzz is a dry material so when it is on the cardboard it h more friction against it. 3. The potential energy. 4. 29.6m/s^2 5. KE = (1/2) * .057 * v^2 When the ball begains roll the kinetic energy is shared between translational energy and rotational energy. 6. Roller coaster starts out with a rail that boosts the cars to a height. Here, electrical energy is added to the system, and converted to gravitational potential energy.
Im confused. What did your lab look like?
