It's much easier to solve this sort of inequality if we keep x positive. Since the 2x on the right is already positive, why not ADD 5x to both the left and right sides of your inequality and then combine like terms? Please write out the results.

3 - 5x > 2x - 11 +5x +5x 3 > 7x - 11 +11 +11 14 > 7x divide by 7 x < 2
