OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

i will fan and medal

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

2 - 11x^2 - 8x +6x^2=

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

@Hollywood_Undead

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go to mathway.com maybe that site can help. i suck terribly at math. especially when you put lettters and crap in it.

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

lol same here

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

u can add or subtract the coefficient of terms with the same power of x for example ... if u got 2x^3 - x^2 + 5x^3 the like terms with the same power of x are 2x^3 and 5x^3 ... u can c they have the same power of 3 so.. u can add or subtract them.. but u cant add or sub terms like 2x^3 and x^2 since their powers r different... and by the meaning of addition or subtraction .. i mean u can add or sub the coefficient of the x.. if u have 3x + 5x 3 , 5 r the coefficient of the x ( the whole number in front of the x term ) so.. in the above example the like terms was 2x^3 + 5x^3 and the coefficients r 2 and 5 .. u can add the together where u will get 7x^3 now .. what r the like terms in ur expression ?

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

ummm... (-11x^2+6x^2)

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

yep ... and the coefficients r -11and + 6 what will u get if add those ?

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

ummm... -5

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

yep... u will get -5x^2.. and since u got no more like terms in ur expression u cant simplify it furthur.. so u will end up with -5x^2 -8x +2 thats ur final answer got it :) ?

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

yah Thanks :) one last question

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

is it a quadratic binomial or quadratic trinomial

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

bi means an expression with 2 terms... and tri means an expression with 3 terms.. since u got 3 terms its a .............. ?

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

trinomial

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

yep :)

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

Thanks :D

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

u r welcome XD

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

^_^ u rock

OpenStudy (***[isuru]***):

tnx ... lol

OpenStudy (snowcrystal):

welcome
