In photosynthesis, plants require light, carbon dioxide and water to produce sugar and oxygen (in the net chemical equation).*

Whereas in cellular respiration, organisms require sugar and oxygen, and produce water, carbon dioxide and energy.

I think a helpful example would be our need for oxygen and sugar.

Humans eat vegetables and fruits as a source of sugar for energy, and we also breathe the oxygen produced by plants during the process of photosynthesis.

They're interrelated processes.
