When linking to other sites in latex with \href, the actual latex shows, instead of what should be shown

No - that's because you can only link using the href to OpenStudy domains. You can't link external sites.

right click>show tex commands not that hard to avoid.

If you don't know about the right clicking though, you probably won't know that you're \(supposed\) to click the blue words.
