A basketball player makes a jump shot, releasing the 0.605-kg ball at a height of 2.45 m, above the floor, with a speed of 6.95 m/s. The ball goes through the net at a height of 3.15 m above the floor at a speed off 3.35 m/s. Calculate the work done by the air resistance on the ball. Also, What would be the speed at the net if there were no air resistance?

The answer is the difference between the sum of the kinetic and gravitational potential energies of the ball on release and the upon passing through the hoop.
