Hey LDW. Me again with my dumb homeworks..

OpenStudy (roadjester):

Gravitron is fun.

OpenStudy (hy123):

Lol never been on one.

OpenStudy (hy123):

This time im completely lost on what to do. Not good with friction.

OpenStudy (hy123):

and motion.

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

In part(a) we have to calculate centripetal acceleration given the velocity and radius. It's a kinematics question so we can ignore the dynamics (Simply use the formula ;) But to find its relation with g (later half of part a) and to solve other parts ; we need to draw a free body diagram for the block. Start with drawing the FBD ; we'll assist you along the way.. :)

OpenStudy (hy123):

Mmkay lemme try to draw that.

OpenStudy (hy123):

Only forces affected by it is... normal and gravity, right?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

There's also the force that holds you against the wall, centripital force.

OpenStudy (hy123):

Teacher didn't teach us that part though.. not sure which direction Cf goes..

OpenStudy (roadjester):

When the gravitron is spinning, you could be 5 feet off the ground and you wouldn't fall. So what direction is the force?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

(I'm actually speaking from experience; I've been in a gravitron.)

OpenStudy (hy123):

Gotcha.
