the answer is C

thanks :)
OpenStudy (cwrw238):
surely -8 is not a solution?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
since its in the absolute value bar it is always positive so the answer is -8 and 8

and what do u mean @cwrw238
OpenStudy (cwrw238):
well i thought that x = -8 would make the absolute value 40 since 32 - (-8) = 40
but selenator says that -8 becomes +8 because of the absolute signs ( the 2 bars on either side)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
how many choices can you put
OpenStudy (cwrw238):
to be honest i'm not sure - maybe i'm wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the answer is (8,-8, and 76) if u can choose two answers

yes of course x = 76 gives -34 which becomes 34 due to absolute signs
