Can someone please please help me with this? I'm lost and I don't get it.
Explain the difference between using the sine ratio to solve for a missing angle in a right triangle versus using the cosecant ratio. You must use complete sentences and any evidence needed (such as an example) to prove your point of view.
Sin is Opposite over hypotnuse. Cosecant is hypotnuse over opposite
The difference between sing the sine and the cosecant is that the sine is side opposite over hypotenuse and the cosecant is hypotenuse over side opposite. If you use the cosecant, that function is not on you calculator so you would need to change it to its reciprocal so you may as well just use the sine function to begin with.
So basically the cosecant is useless?
It is the reciprocal of the sine. It is not worthless in all situations.
sometimes is easier and prettier to write csc than 1/sin
Can you please provide an example of when it is actually useful? Like what does it help find?
It often appears in problems involving trig identities.
