You are in a car driving away from a stationary whistle. How does the sound you hear compare with that of the whistle itself? You hear a lower pitch than the whistle makes. You hear the same pitch that the whistle makes. You hear a higher pitch than the whistle makes. Your motion is irrelevant to what you hear I think its a lower pitch?

Do you know Doppler's effect ?
oh yes i've read of it in a previous lesson to this
so its not lower pitch?
See the formula and tell me the answer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppler_effect#General
sorry page isn't loading :/
It's the mathematical formula for Doppler's Effect. Have you studied any such formula ?
no they just gave me like the definition that frequency increases when source and observer approach and decrease as they go apart it says for this question i just need that
In that case, You hear a lower pitch than the whistle makes. :)
great :) oh and one last one before i go to sleep : Which characteristic of a sound wave corresponds to the loudness? frequency wavelength phase amplitude
What's your guess ??
frequency
It should be Amplitude..
ohh right! yep sorry getting too sleepy lol thank you for your help!!
You're welcome :)
