\[\cos x=\frac{ 1-\tan ^2\frac{ x }{ 2 } }{ 1+\tan ^2\frac{ x }{ 2 } }\]
plug the value of cos x and cross multiply
\[\tan \left( \frac{ x }{ 2 } \right)=\frac{ 1-\cos x }{ \sin x }\]
