which is more accurate an oscilloscope or a DMM?

I answered oscilloscope, but the answer that I got for DMM has 4 decimal values.

It depends. Both should be just as accurate, it's the precision that you pay for. The higher the precision the more expensive the device. With the oscilloscope, you will be limited by the number of tick marks on the screen. With a DMM, the precision is dictated by the signal processor and the number of digits that can be displayed. You will not have as many significant digits with an oscilloscope simply because of visual limitation from ready the screen. Again, accuracy should be the same. Note accuracy is NOT precision. The way I like to explain it is with a dart board: |dw:1393717446422:dw|
