Is a battery a voltage source or a current source? I am trying to convert a circuit to thevenin and it has a battery in the circuit.

@roadjester @ybarrap

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

It's a voltage source because a battery's function is to maintain a constant potential not a constant stream of charge, which is what a current source provides.

oh...thanks. Quick question... For the oscilloscope,when it shows an ellipse, will the phase angle need to be 90 degrees or it does not matter?

@ybarrap @roadjester

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

You have an ellipse when two different channels are out of phase, but not necessarily by 90 degrees.

oh ok..Thanks
