Welcome to Open Study! :) Fist part: It is written half of the 472 so first, divide 472 into 2 that is 236. Next, one-fifth of the students not taking algebra are taking geometry. First we divided 472 into 2 that was 236 now we will divide 236 into 5 because it is one-fifth so the answer will be 47.2. Now we will see how many are remaining. As I told you before that the half of the 472 was 236.Now we will minus 47.2 from 236 because 47.2 students are taking geometry. 236 minus 47.2 which is 188.8. Finally, we will round 188.8 to the nearest whole number which is 189. So the final answer is 189. Wait a min. for the second part :)
Second Part: First I divided 472 by 2 and then the answer was 236 and then I divided 236 by 5 so the answer was 47.2 then I divided 47.2 into 472 which equals to 0.1. Then to get it as a percentage I multiplied 0.2 by 100. The answer is 10%.
Third part: There are algebra classes and in each of them there are 27 students. 27 plus 27 is 54. So we got 54/236. Now we will simplify the fraction. In 54 and 236 the last numbers are even and 2 is also even so we will divide it be 2. The final answer is 27/118. Hope you understood it! Thanks!~
