If f(x) = log2 (x + 4), what is f^−1(3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's 3 = log_2 (x+4)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not following

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't even know how to explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this f^-1(a) = b means f(b) = a so if f^-(3) = b, then f(b) = 3 replace b with x, you get f(x) = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and f(x) is already given. Just solve for x
