Alright I'm sorta dumb when it comes to writing books, how to write a plot? Any ideas

OpenStudy (shamil98):

I'm actually writing a book myself xD

OpenStudy (shamil98):

When a writing a book I feel that you should just think about what YOU want to write about, not what others recommend, what do you like to read about? (as in genres) go very vague and then create your story from a small basis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is very cool! Lots of people are writing books

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're right, That's what I do. I like to read Mystery, Romance and Drama books.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Go from there, then (this is from my experience though) My book is a mix of horror, mystery, tragedy, and romance. Right now I've planned it out in my head and have written the first page ( started last night actually xD)

OpenStudy (shamil98):

I based my book genres upon what I find interesting, which are the ones I mentioned.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow I've never thought of a mix like that it sounds very interesting. I'll try planning it out. I'm just stuck atm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o.o .....

OpenStudy (shamil98):

I've essentially planned out the first few chapters, ( I plan to make this book around 300 to 400 pages.) Which basically gives the audience a background on the characters and the current obstacle(s) that he/she faces. I've taken a liking to starting with a the present issue and as the book progresses, explaining the past.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see.. so you planned it out before you started writing it?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Pretty much, I haven't planned out every aspect of the book but just the overall plot, with the details made up along the path.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh.. The difference with me is that I'm kinda writers blocked one moment writing but then I get stuck

OpenStudy (shamil98):

If you can't think of a plot currently, just work on the characters, for me I'm not quite sure if i want my character to have the name it currently has, try working on the small details and work your way to the big ones i guess.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, I'll try that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you Sham xDD You've helped alot

OpenStudy (shamil98):

mhm, anytime :)
