how do you graph two lines in the same coordinate system using the intercepts method?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

what's the intercept method?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

well....find the x and y intercepts of the two lines. plot them, then connect the points. Do you know how to find the intercepts of the lines ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i so but it also says to label all intercepts, do i just put the plot points??

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

plot your points, then label it on the graph, ...I guess

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

with 2 lines, you will have 4 intercepts

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I suppose if you wanted to check yourself, you could find the slope and that might help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg i was getting confused with intersect intend of intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what you said earlier clicked it in my head

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

well...intercepts are where the lines intersect the x and y axis

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

say that enough and it will mess with your head...lol
