Randall's sock drawer contains 5 black socks, 2 gray socks, 3 white socks, and 1 brown sock. If Randall selects 3 socks from the drawer in the dark, how many combinations of sock colors are possible?

My educated guess would be 24 but obviously that is incorrect
The first sock there can be a choice of 4 colors - black, grey, white and brown
The second sock chosen then are a choice of 3 colors - black, grey and white (No brown since there is only 1 brown sock)
The third sock there is only 2 choices - black and white (No brown or white left)
So that is 4*3*2=24
There are 24 possible combinations of sock colors
