Medals! Please answer. Maria buys material to cut out of the triangles. She finds the total area of the eight triangles and then adds 20% to this area for waste. How much material she should buy?

OpenStudy (trantom):

connor did you watch the video for the other problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I did but it didn't help me.

OpenStudy (trantom):

ask your teacher then... hm well this one... theres no context can you put up the whole problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The formula for the area of a triangle is:\[\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }(base)(height) \]You need 8 of these triangles, so we multiply the formula by 8 to get..\[\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }bh(8)=4bh\]Finally, we add 20% to the area by multiplying our modified formula by 1.2 or 120%\[(1.2)4bh=4.8bh\]

@Landon_Buckland Is it correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are you asking about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, it asked to draw the eight triangles on this graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should be able to fit all of them within an area of:\[4.8 * [Base] * [Height]\]..where the 'Base' is the length of the base of 1 triangle and the 'height' is the length of the height of 1 triangle.

I dont get it..

Do you have numbers for the base or height?
