Solve for x and y. Express your answer in simplest radical form (if it's not an integer) Will become a fan and give a medal to anyone who helps please??

OpenStudy (triciaal):

pythagorean theorem x^2 + rt2^2 = y^2 sin 45 = rt2/y = x/y x/sin 45 = rt2/sin 45 for a right triangle with equal angles the sides are equal so x = rt2

OpenStudy (triciaal):

rt2^2 + rt2^2 = y^2 2*rt2^2= y^2 rt2^2 = 2 so 2*2 = y^2 4 = y^2 y = 2

You can notice its a 45-45-90 triangle and also an isosceles triangle. So x would also equal sqrt 2 And you can easily solve for y using the pythagoreom theorem (Sqrt 2)^2 + (sqrt 2)^2=y^2 2+2=y^2 4=y^2 Then square root both sides to find y So y=2
