What is the image of point M(3, 0, 5) under the translation T(x, y, z) T´(x + 5, y 1, z 4)? (Points : 1) M´(2, 1, 1) M´(2, 1, 1) M´(2, 1, 1) M´(2, 1, 1)
Umm seems like you didnt copy and paste the question correctly :P
What is the image of point M(3, 0, 5) under the translation T(x, y, z) T´(x + 5, y 1, z 4)? (Points : 1) M´(-2, 1, -1) M´(2, -1, 1) M´(-2,- 1, 1) M´(2,- 1,- 1)
fixed it
@BlackLabel
T´(x + 5, y 1, z 4) Is it T´(x + 5, y - 1, z -4)?
yes
So we start off with x,y and z and then we translate them to x+5, y-1 and z-4 and we get (3,0,5) So x+5=3 y-1=0 z-4=5 Solve for x,y and z and you will get your answer
would x be 8? do you add 3+5?
we need to isolate the variable So x+5=3 Subtract 5 from both sides x+5-5=3-5 x=-2
y-1=0 Add one to both sides y-1+1=0+1 y=1
z+4=5 Subtract 4 from both sides z+4-4=5-4 z=1
So our answer is (-2,1,1)
thats not a option
SO then smth is wrong with your original translation T´(x + 5, y 1, z 4)???? What are the signs??
-1 -4
1,-1,-4
T´(x + 5, y +1, z -4) Ohhh it must be this then ..... (-2,-1,1)
okay. i have two more problems like this and i really dont understand how to evaluat to find the answes.
what grade are you in?
What is the image of point Q(3, 5,- 4) after it is reflected about the yz-plane? (Points : 1) Q´(-3, 5, 4) Q´(3, -5,- 4) Q´-(3, 5,- 4) Q´(3, 5, 4)
10
Im not sure but to me I think its (3,5,4)
Repost the question and maybe someone else can help you
okay. can you see if you can help me with the other one?
If point A(1, -3, 4) is reflected about the xz-plane, what are the coordinates of that reflection? (Points : 1) A´(1, 3, 4) A´(1, -3,- 4) A´(-1, -3, 4) A´(-1, 3, -4)
