I'm not 100% sure but I believe your proportion is
2. x
---- = ----
50. 2000
And solve for x first
2/50 is the 2 defected potatoes out of the 50 sample picked out.
And using this you're trying to find x potatoes out of 2000 that would also be defected
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@nikato so C?
OpenStudy (nikato):
No, did you find x?
Hint: cross multiply first
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yeah 4000/50
OpenStudy (anonymous):
50/4000

b
OpenStudy (nikato):
So 2(2000)=50x
4000=50x. Divide both sides by 50
x=80
And put that back into the fraction
So what's 80/2000?

0.04!
