y = 8.7x + 5
Hello! What would you like to do with this? :)
i need an answer
Like do you need to find a point that's on the line? or get this equation into standard form?
get it in a standard form
okay :) so standard form is ax + by = c where a b and c are integers so you need to get all the terms with variables to one side so for y = 8.7x + 5 subtract both sides by 8.7x and what would you get? :)
y=-3.7x
not quite :) y = 8.7x + 5 minus 8.7x from both sides -8.7x -8.7x -8.7x + y = 5 is what you get, follow so far? :) then to get rid of decimals you need to multiply each number by negative 10 so like -8.7x times -10 = 87x y times -10 = -10y and 5 times -10 = -50 so you have 87x - 10y = -50
thanks alot
Glad I could help :)
y = 2x +3.3 in y intercept
the y intercept can be found when x=0 so solve for y when y = 2(0) + 3.3
