Please help!!! 1. which are dependent events? A. rolling two number cubes B. tossing the same coin two times C. spinning a spinner a rolling a number cube D. taking two marbles from a box without replacing the first marble 2. suppose Q and R are independent events. Find P(Q and R) P(Q)=0.41, P(R)=0.44 A. 0.03 B. 0.1804 C. 0.85 D. 0.0123

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C. is the answer to the first one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the second one is B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get the second one ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by multiplying the 2 numbers

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

How is #1 C? My opinion would be D. a dependent event, it is DEPENDENT on another event such as not replacing a marble...spinning a spinner and rolling a die are 2 separate independent events

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i got D for that one

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Good...and yes 2 would be B, you would multiply the 2 independent event probabilities together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay yeah thats what i thought could you help me with one more ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i did it right ? i always got that kind of problem wrong lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you roll a six-sided number cube. which event are mutually exclusive ? A. rolling a multiple of 2 and a multiple of 4 B. rolling a multiple of 3 and a multiple of 6 (my answer) C. rolling an even number and an odd number D. rolling a prime number and an even number is this right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why do u say B. is the right answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because it makes sense to go up by evens right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if u say it makes sense to go up in evens then it would either be A. or B. right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah but it makes more sense condsidering it is a six sided cube so it would be 2 and 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that is correct so the most probable answer is B. then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u r welcom need anymore hlp?
