Kristen and Sam notice that the means of their scores for the first marking period were the same. Kristen commented that the standard deviation of her scores was 8.4 while the standard deviation of Sam's was 4.8. Which statement must be true? A: Sam's scores were lower than Kristen's. Hmm, well the standard deviation would be how spread out their scores are....so since we don't know what numbers are involved (the mean) we cannot possibly solve an exact number.... We CAN however see that since the scores varied less for Sam and more for Kristen...that Sam's scores were more consistent than Kristens
