What is the relationship between the lines determined by these two equations? 3x + 6y = 8 y = 2x – 8 A. neither parallel nor perpendicular B. they are the same line C. parallel D. perpendicular

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D because y = 2x - 8 & y = -1/2x + 4/3 Making the slope the opposite reciprocals. AKA. Perpendicular.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. So I am going with d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D also

Try installing something called GeoGebra. All you have to do on it is type in those equations and you can see if it is perpendicular, parallel, or neither.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, the way to check for parallel is same slope perpendicular is opposite reciprocal.
