Giving Medals and Fanning whoever can give me the correct answer! Write a system of inequalities for the graphs. http://imgur.com/41IdtCV http://imgur.com/A0IcxWj

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HOw many do you need?

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

I need two inequalities for each link.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u know the difference between dotted line and solid line?

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what i do is look for y intercept and x intercept ....while the other variable is 0.... for example i plug y = 0 , x + y solid bar sign 3.... for the dotted line x sign (what coordinate of x does it cross when y =0)

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

for the solid line on the first one I got y ≥ -x + 1. How do I find the second one if it's vertical ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i plug 0 in y i get 0 + x greater than 3 ok that is accutrate then check other variable x = 0 then 0 + y greater than 3 ok so first equation should be x + y >= 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertical line is on the x axis so for every x that is on that line is greater than 5

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

x > 5 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes because dotted line so x > 5

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

:D

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

So for the other one, I turned them into equations: y = 3/4x + 3 and y = 1/5x + 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i had 5y + x >= 5....... all but the sign i think u got it.... x + 3y >= 4 i think

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

Are those the last two answers or ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but y = is better form

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

Thanks so much for all the help! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your right it should be y = -3/4 x + 3 good job
