CRITICAL LENS. "we do not read novels for improvement or instruction." plz someone explain what this quote means!

Are you still here? XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

Alright, are you ready...for the answer mi amigo or amiga? :-D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol yepp :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"We do not read novels for improvement or instruction." This means that we don't just read novels or books for improvement on our comprehension skills, or our reading skill; we don't read novels/books for "how to blah blah blah". We read novels/books to get away from the real world, to let our imagination take over and create these characters from the stories and we want to know why they do what they do. We want to get away, to pretend to be someone in an alternate dimension fighting Big Brother, or to battle robots and cowboys. We read these words on paper because...well, it's fun! Isn't it?
