Can someone help me solve for x?: (x-7)^2=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

double root @7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X=7 and it's a dobule root.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can take apart the square and seperate them into (x-7)(x-7)=0 Use zero-product property to set it equal to zero x-7=0 therefore x=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, duh! Thanks guys! Hahahahaha what a stupid mistake... :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or you can graph it and see that the root is x=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem!
