please help on finding solution to the rational equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ x }{ 2x-1 } - \frac{ 1 }{ 4 } =\frac{ 2 }{ 2x-1 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) x = 2 B) x = 7 over 2 C) x = 3 D) x = 7 over 6

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Subtract the first fraction from both sides and you will get, \[\huge\color{blue}{ -\frac{1}{4} = \frac{2}{2x-1}- \frac{x}{2x-1} }\] the denominators of the fractions on the right are same.... \[\huge\color{blue}{ -\frac{1}{4} = \frac{2-x}{2x-1}}\] cross multiply. \[\huge\color{blue}{ ( -1)(2x-1)=4(2-x)}\] \[\huge\color{blue}{ -2x+1=8-4x}\] can you do it from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2x=7 x=7/2 sorry for the late respoinse
