I WILL GIVE YOU A MEDAL AND BE YOUR FAN Solve the equation: x +7/8=4 A. X=4 7/8 B. X=3 1/8 C. X=-3 1/8 D. X=-4 7/8

Subtract both sides by 7/8. 3 and 1/8 will remain. The answer is B

Could you explain a little more please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You want to have only x and nothing else on the left side. To do so, you need to subtract the 7/8 from the left side and subtract it from the other side to compensate. When you take 4-7/8 you get x all by itself on one side and then 3 and 1/8 on the other, stating that x=3 and 1/8

Ohh ok I undestand a little more thanks for the help!!
