What are the X and Y intercepts of f(x)=4x^2 - x - 3?

OpenStudy (alekos):

for the y-intercept just make x=0 and f(0) will be the answer for the x-intercept make f(x)=0 and solve 4x^2 - x - 3 = 0

I got the last two questions wrong trying that.. I'm clueless and this assignment is due in 15 minutes.. :\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y intercept is when x = 0, so f(x) here = -3 x intercept is when y = 0 so here you have to solve the quadratic equation, so x = [1+- sqrt(1+48)]/8
