PLEASE HELP! (this is 8th grade physics) An inventor claims to have built a machine that can produce 120 J of work with an input of 110 J. Would you believe the inventor's claim? Why or why not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what u say ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, the output of work can not be greater than the input.

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

So the inventor says I can produce 120J from 110J I say, 'What sorcery is this?' So he claimed that he got 10J out of nowhere! Is that possible? Not according to Law of conservation of mass and energy [I am hoping this is not a nuclear reaction] :D So, you shouldn't believe the inventor's claim. :)
