Many people feared that a _______ central government might limit the freedom of the separate states. A. strong B. weak C. big D. small @austinL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its weak

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@austinL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking strong because they might overpower everybody and they won't be able ot do anything. Not sure, though. :/

OpenStudy (austinl):

Well, I can narrow it down for you. It isn't small. And it isn't weak. If it is small, they don't have the same amount of power as a large government; so this would limit that amount of influence they have over individual state governments. This also goes for weak. Now onto something else. In the news, when they mention the size of the Federal Government, what kind of words do they use to describe it? Strong and Weak? Or big and small?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Strong?

OpenStudy (austinl):

Often times I hear people complaining about a big government....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's big.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking strong, yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I think it's big...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My book says that as a result of these weaknesses states acted more like small separate nations than as members of confederation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well Iiiiii may be wrong... lol. Majority rules, it's big. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Me too, because I think that there would be a bigger chance of something happening if it was big. You would have more people that agree.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have a Civics in practice book.
