A 10.0-kg animal is running at a rate of 3.0 m/s. What is the kinetic energy of the animal? Hint: 1/2 (M)(V)2 • 3.3 J • 45.0 J

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its simple math you can calculate it by your own it's 2nd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2 (M)(V)2 1/2 (10)(3)2 (5)(3)(2) (15)(2) (30)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get 30 everytime..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That was kinda rude i was hope- ing- for someone to run through it with me and help me understand what i did not understand in...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks green

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol, I don't know how he got 45 though..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you switch M and V around you get the same answer of 30.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically 'times 1/2' and 'times 2' cross each other out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey it's\[v^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, the equation she gave didn't provide that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2(m)(v)^2 1/2(10)(3)^2 1/2(10)(9) (5)(9) 45

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, I see.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[KE=\frac{ 1 }{ 2 } m v^2\]

Which kind of energy transformation occurs when the skateboard falls downward, thus, striking the ground? (1 point) • kinetic to potential to electrical • gravitational to kinetic to thermal • mechanical to potential to gravitational (check my answer) My answer: C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Explanation, @gyanu ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which kind of energy does the soccer player transfer to the ball? • kinetic • potential • sound I know its not sound because that has nothing to do with sound waves, I think kinetic because he hitting on it adding force for it to move ? and kinetic is like movement...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It can also be Potential though... because it might be still in the sky about to fall D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

potential energy is =mgh when height decreases of skateboard its potential energy decreases due to energy conservation it;s convert to kinetic energy because velocity increases as heigt of skateboard decreases now at the ground their is friction which convert energy into heat which is thermal energy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:O !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This guy knows his science..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@BellaNina865 i think it;s all three because when player kick ball get velocity due to which their is kinetic energy it got height due to which their is potential energy and their is sound also which is also a form of energy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It wont let me put all..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's probably which one contributes more to the transfer of energy..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which type of energy is represented here? (1 point) • thermal • chemical potential • electromagnetic im guessing ... thermal .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or electromagnetic '.'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually soccer player has purely kinetic energy so he transfer kinetic energy to ball all other effect takes place after transfer so KE is best option

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because of the motion '.' :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's chemical when you rub matchstick with match their is chemical reaction which convert chemical energy to thermal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes because soccer player is running

Some kayakers coat the bottom of their kayaks with wax to make them more slippery. Kayakers wax their boats to • reduce the work output. • reduce their input force. • reduce the speed the boat travels in water.
