OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

The total cost for 8 bracelets, including shipping was $54. The shipping charge was $6. Write an equation that models the cost of each bracelet. I have no clue how to solve these:(

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

help me:).....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

54-6=8x x being the price of each individual bracelet so when simplified it gives you 48=8x You would divide 48 by 8 which leaves you with 6. Meaning each bracelet is 6 dollars.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You would subtract 6 because of the shipping cost which leaves you with 48 the total cost of the bracelet without shipping included.

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Thanx. for ur help. i appresiate it:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're very welcome :)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Can you answer another question though for me??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if you still need me to I probably could.

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

ok:) What is 30% of 70? Show your work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30% can be written as a ratio 30/100 or decimal 0.3. So 30% of 70 is the same as the percentage times the total or x=0.30(70) So if you multiply .30(70) you'll be left with 21. Hope I could help, again :)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

So the answer would be 21%??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, it would be 21. 30% of 70 is 21.

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

oh.wait.....never mind i read your respoonse wrong. but ok. i really never learned about ratios, percentages. and proportions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[70\times0.3=21\] Because 3x70=210 but then you have to bring the decimal over one place to the left from the end of 210 because it's .3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm still in need of assistance on my problem but no one has answered :(

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

whats your question????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A company is deciding whether or not to hire a new worker. The company must pay the worker hourly and cover a daily cost for insurance. The cost to pay an hourly worker for one day is represented by the function y = 8x + 25 where x is hours. What is the y-intercept and what does it represent? 8; it represents the hourly wage for the worker 8; it represents the cost for insurance 25; it represents the cost for insurance 25; it represents the hourly wage for the worker

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

the y-intercept would be 8. So now your down to a 50, 50 chance. what do you think the 8 represents??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Hourly Wage is what it looks like, since x is the number of hours and it's 8x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks Looks like we both helped each other =]

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

your right! So it would be 8; it represents the hourly rage for the worker:)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

np:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks very much :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This'll help me with the others that are like this one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you think you would be able to help me with one more?

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

i think so...

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

what is the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The table shows average basketball scores per game of teams who spent a certain number of hours with each other outside of practice. Hours spent together 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 Average Score per game 34 39 41 41 59 58 60 68 68 80 Calculate the correlation coefficient. 1 0.97 0.87 0.77
