I need help with simplifying polynomials !! please help

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

where are the polynomials?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like what is the problem?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

you said you need help with simplifying polynomials. I see no polynomials here to simplify.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's just what the topic Is called

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Okay, well, if you come up with some sample problems, we can work through them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the first one is (b-2at^2)(3b-3at^2)

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

\[(b-2at^2)(3b-3at^2)\]Can you expand that product?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to do this, this is why I asked.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Well, this isn't simplifying yet, this is multiplication of binomials Use the distributive property: \[a(b+c) = a*b + a*c\] \[(b-2at^2)(3b-3at^2) = b(3b-3at^2) -2at^2(3b-3at^2)\]Can you use the distributive property again to remove the remaining ()'s?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea ig

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

well, give it your best shot.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks ig

OpenStudy (gunsodo):

Well, your example question needs to be simplified, so I think it should be \[(b−2at^2)(3b−3at^2)=3(b-2at^2)(b-at^2)\]

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

@12leanne you won't learn anything by having us do the problems for you. You learn by doing, even though you may make mistakes at first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I cant make no mistakes it has to be right the first time.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

That's a problem! Not willing to do the work to develop the skill, and need to be 100% accurate the first time. Well, good luck ig!
