Why is Islamism creating conflict in the Middle East today? Most Muslims believe that Jews and Christians should not be allowed to live in the region. Some Muslims believe Arab governments should be based on Islam, others believe in secular governments. Some Muslims do not believe Israel should be allowed to exist in the region; others believe it has that right. Many Israelis believe that there is no place in their society for people who are not Jewish.
